What is an eSmith?
Ever wonder what's behind the name eSmith IT? While it certainly is a nod to the founder's last name, it’s also a fun homage to the master tradesmen of the past. Historically, a "smith" was a dedicated craftsman—like a blacksmith or goldsmith—who spent a lifetime perfecting a highly specialized physical trade at the anvil. By adding the "e" for electronics, the name becomes a modern portmanteau: the electronic smith. Instead of forging iron and steel, we forge robust digital solutions. With over two decades of experience honing this modern craft, we've simply swapped the traditional hammer and tongs for servers, software, and networks, expertly hammering out your tech wrinkles to build IT systems that are as tough as nails.

With over 25 years of extensive IT experience, Kevin Smith is an industry-recognized expert and strategic advisor serving clients across 11 states—stretching from the Carolinas as far away as California. His deep technical background covers advanced networking (Local Networks, Wi-Fi, Internet, and SD-WAN), strict cybersecurity protocols, and robust virtualization technology.
Kevin has engineered specialized solutions for major national brands like Allstate and Nationwide. A pioneer in VoIP and telephony since 2007, he also brings decades of expertise in video surveillance, having designed the online video platform for Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2006—a partnership that continues to this day across many capacities.
